10-3-10, Day 28

To Landlocked:
THE STINKING ROSE
Les Blank, a documentary filmmaker notorious for zeroing in on quirky subjects, made a film in the '70's called, "Garlic Is As Good As 10 Mother's" that I deeply regret not having seen.  At each screening, he used a low tech devise of his own design called AromaRound: a pot of butter loaded with garlic simmering at the back of the theater.  Many of you will remember my decades long craving for garlic on my breakfast oatmeal.  That desire left me about two years ago as mysteriously as it came.  But I haven't lost my taste for garlic and always keep a handful of bulbs around for the myriad of other mouth watering uses for the Stinking Rose.
